Why is “extra” curricular NOT more on the curriculum?

Non-learning people unite?

I was bad – BAD – in maths when I was in school. After I started at college, doing my preferred English Language & Litt. degree, I started to read up on Algebra and Statistics, which I still like. “Educationists” must find a way to get students involved in what they are supposed to “learn”.

Most keep learning without seeming to be aware of it. They absorb it like breathing and slowly adapt. Inventors et les autres, i.e., those irritated with the status quo like Caulfield, eagerly seek it.

I’m planning to stop learning when I’m 6 feet under.

Good punchline in this one.

All knowledge is worth having.

Wait – he doesn’t WANT summer vacation?

The lesson might be to see it to the finish. Not to count your chickens before they’ve hatched.

Caufield meant “Stop when they have nothing more to teach”

Caulfield sounds uncharacteristically confrontational, calling their discussions arguments. People who are done learning believe they know everything which is stagnating which leads to dementia.

My mother always used to say the day you stop learning is the day you start going backwards.
