So we used to have a Scottish Terrier named MacGregor, and whenever we gave him a bath, he once free from the “evil bath” would proceed to race up and down the hallway and around the house in his bid to dry off, well one time he accidentally hit a damp patch and went sliding face-first into our recliner from loss of traction it was hilarious and “poor baby” kind of thing.

That’s how dogs sweat, Garfield. Leave him alone.
arjun.shriv about 4 years ago
Well, with the exception that Garfield lands on his stomach for cushioning.

I think dogs only land on their heads is when you kick them off the tabletop and/or countertop.
in.amongst about 4 years ago
No, my dear Garfield – Dogs usually land straight in to our hearts.

Looks like you shouldn’t work a toaster any where near that dog.
codycab about 4 years ago
That sure would hurt.

Yet, you know that Odie can lick you any time, don’cha Garf?
jpayne4040 about 4 years ago
If either were really smart they wouldn’t jump in the first place! :-)
jagedlo about 4 years ago
I’d find someplace to wipe your feet right about now, Garfield!

That would explain the activation of the sprinkler system in his head

ODI is a very juicy pooch! Woof!
JudyHendrickson about 4 years ago

Always think you’re the dignified one, don’t you, Garfield?
AustinKniga-Bartlett about 4 years ago
Yeah, but their ears help them keep walking when upside down.
cubswin2016 about 4 years ago
Cats can be just as stupid as dogs sometimes, like Bucky for example.
donwestonmysteries about 4 years ago
Or maybe in a pool of drool.
cuzinron47 about 4 years ago
Looks like you have a slipping hazard.

It is time to play the game “Who Are Smarter, Cats or Dogs”? I bet that Garfield wins the game. #heregarfy :)

But they create their own pools to cushion to the blow.

If toast always lands butter-side down, and cats always land on their feet, what happens if you strap toast on the back of a cat and drop it?
graham.barbara39 about 4 years ago
Odie can sure put out a lot of slobber. Maybe they slip on their slobber and land on their heads
tinstar about 4 years ago
So, that would probably work better, if they could stand on their heads.
WentBrown about 4 years ago
I seldom give Garfield’s statements any credence.
BJ40 about 4 years ago
Is that why Odie drools a lot ?
LordVoldemort about 4 years ago
That would explain a lot of things, although yesterday, while I was in the pool, my dog tried to ‘save me’ by jumping on my head.
NoahByrd almost 4 years ago
we do not know how dogs land.

I thought he said that cats landing on there feet is a whole lot of baloney!

no, dogs slip on the pool of slobber they make going down
