So they spent… three (?) months in tribute—two or so weeks of which were flashbacks to stories going up to WWII and the rest was pointless wordplay, tributes to unrelated comics, and a weird and kinda creepy sequence with a 100 year old “real” fan? oy…
Wait a minute! … Does this mean Walt and Skeezix are NOT retiring?! I mean, they’re leaving OCH and all! Will they go back to the Alley?! Or is it just that they’re going to fade away for good? Maybe someone else will take up Jim’s pen?! Who knows?!
It always makes me sad whenever we, the readers, have to take out leave of the Old Comics’ Home, particularly after our witnessing the 100th Anniversary of a venerable strip. Would love to move into that home, but being made of flesh & blood, not pen & ink, leaves me at a disadvantage. (RESIGNED SIGH!!)

Throughout this story arc, I never saw Dondi, Brenda Starr, Winnie Winkle. or Wash Tubbs.

Shouldn’t Walt and Skeezix have cleaned themselves up before leaving?

I would not mind seeing a reprint of Gasoline Alley from the beginning.

It was fun while it lasted, though.

So they’re leaving? Apparently it’s not time for Walt to be a permanent resident there, then.
