Are used softball cleats tough or worn down?

Wow, I really am getting old. When did they start wearing cleats for softball? Way back in the 19&&‘s cleats were only for hardball. After reading this strip I think she may have meant Hairball cleats. R&W upset my cats’ stomachs (a real accomplishment). Cue one of Mom and Dad’s old favorites: “I don’t want to set the world on fire.”
