Glad to see they had time to change uniforms & more during the commercial. Also good to see that Gil is using both hands to call in the play so that VT doesn’t overhear it.

P1 Shouldn’t Tays be giving “El Tigre” the stiff arm right about there?

P2 Tays puts on the brakes in an attempt to let Hernnandez-Martinez fly by, but reacts with an EES inducing stiff arm to the face as he braces for collision.

P3 “RICOLA!”, somebody was going to do it, but no, let’s not go there…

Thing, inspired by Fistpump Grandpa and all the enthusiastic Fist Kids, balls up and jumps up onto Coach Thorp’s shoulder to watch the riveting drama unfolding on the field.

Seems there was more action during the commercial break with Valley Tech changing uniforms before the anti-climactic outcome of the interrupted play.

Not only was Tays able to shake El Tigre, he was also able shake out of his #3 jersey and into #7 without losing a step during the game film commercial break.

As Sparky would say, “Good grief!”

This was probably NOT “The Tiger’s” last received stiff arm in the game of life.

so, we are back to this year’s game w/o knowing what revelatory insight the viewing of the 30 year old tape yeilded???

How is it fourth down? Was it third down and goal to go from the 40?

Maybe we should start skipping the sports action and stick with the social issues

I can’t believe they took a commercial break during a key play. Coulda been worse I guess. They could have cut to “Heidi.”

Wow! Three days in a row (counting Charlie Brown’s redemption) of football. May be a new record for Henry.

1987: Snow & sleet fell on the field. Kyle Tatum fumbled the ball near the goal line. Luke Martinez recovered the fumble and he COULD GO ALL THE………….! Trying to merge the past with the present.

I’m guessing that Gil will find some inconsistencies with Luke’s memory of what happened once he gets through reviewing this tape. So far, this story beats the Keri/Mimi/HeeHaw/Jami stuff for sure.

I would bet “Milford is going all in” wouldn’t have been heard in 1987. I keep seeing current slang popping up on period TV shows, too.

This strip makes no sense. Saturday there was a little round-headed kid with a zig-zaggy t-shirt kicking a football and today we’re in the middle of a high school game. How am I expected to follow such a disjointed narrative?!

Shouldn’t there be an explanatory note in the upper left of P1: “The videotape from 1987 continues…”?
