There’s a sandwich shop called Capriotti’s that makes a sandwich like the one Dean has.

I already had my Thanksgiving sandwich: turkey, freshly made cranberry sauce hot off the stove, stuffing and gravy, with red onions. Love stuffing sandwiches. I would throw the turkey out the window and just eat stuffing if I didn’t need the protein.

Ah, soul food… If only I could try it one day. Tough when you’re Swedish. Even if you find the recipes and try them, you won’t know if it tastes the way that it should.

I’m unclear on what’s going on here. Did Dean ask for a duplicate of Lee’s plate because he likes soul food or because he likes Lee?

We just had our turkey today (Saturday) I’m stuffed. Next up is “Impossible Turkey pie” a bisquik recipe which diced turkey in a biscuit mixture covered with cheese.

My family used some of the leftovers to make Brunswick stew.

I am with Steenz, a good ham beats a turkey handsdown everytime!

My local diner is serving a ‘holiday turkey panini’ which is very similar to Dean’s ‘thanksgiving sandwich’ .. it’s delicious. :-)

I used to make Thanksgiving sandwiches, but I quit cold turkey.

She brought him LEFTOVERS!!?? What happened to her inviting him for dinner?

Yeah, that thanksgiving sandwich won’t fall apart immediately.

Where’s the stuffing?

Most of us who eat collards regularly don’t say we eat “collard greens”. We just eat collards. Everyone knows the greens are the only thing to eat with collards. (OK, and we sop up the pot likker (liquor) with cornbread, too). This is unlike turnips—where you have the greens or the root. So with turnips you say “turnip greens” for the tops and “turnips” for the root. And, of course, there is pot likker with turnip greens, too. Just a little more soul (and also Southern/Appalachian) culture for those who would like to know. :-)

are they in school? no one goes to school the day after Tday…..in fact they get the week off these days
