‘We can start collecting right now’: E. Jean Carroll attorney puts Trump on notice on CNN
Appearing on CNN early Monday morning, Roberta Kaplan, the attorney for New York writer E. Jean Carroll laid out her expectations for how Donald Trump will pay the $83.3 million a Manhattan jury awarded her client.
After Carroll described confronting the former president in court — calling him a “nothing” — Kaplan was asked what is next for Trump now that he has to pay up.
According to Kaplan, who is no relation to trial Judge Lewis Kaplan, Trump needs to either pony up the entire amount into a trust while he appeals, or find a bond company to back him, or she is prepared to go after his money if he tries to stall.
“You got awarded over $83 million from this jury,” CNN host Poppy Harlow prompted her. “Trump is obviously appealing and he has a right to do that. Big question over the last couple of weeks, does he get a bond or when does your client see that money or some of it?”
‘Entirely made up’: E. Jean Carroll shreds Alina Habba’s bogus Trump defense
Fresh off winning an $83 million verdict against former President Donald Trump, writer E. Jean Carroll appeared on CNN for a wide-ranging interview where she commented, among other things, on the performance of Trump attorney Alina Habba.
‘He was nothing’: E. Jean Carroll brutally buries diminished Trump in CNN interviewAppearing on CNN early Monday morning, New York writer E. Jean Carroll called Donald Trump an “emperor with no clothes” whose power has diminished now that he has been held responsible for defaming her.
Accompanied by her lawyer Robbie Kaplan, the recipient of a $83.3 million damage award levied against the former president admitted she was initially nervous about encountering the ex-president in court but then she realized he has become a non-entity.
“There he was, and he was nothing,” she told CNN hosts Poppy Harlow and Phil Mattingly. “Just, no power. he had — he was zero. That was, I was flabbergasted and from then on we just sailed through.”
Asked if she made “eye contact with him,” she replied, ‘Many times," she added, "He’s an emperor without clothes. it’s like looking at nothing. It was like… nothing."
I really doubt that was the objective. A very superficial investigation of Trump’s business dealings would make it obvious that he doesn’t pay his bills. If I had been in her position and could get lawyers who would work for me knowing that fact, I would have sued him just to make it public that I was the one who was wronged in this case and he went on to be president. In other words, I’d be more interested in revenge than money.

One of my favorite daydreams, someone buys the brass tower and has a demolition company implode it.

OJ has only paid $155,000 so far. He owes 60 million. I suspect she won’t see much of the money, but there’s always hope.

If you but any Trump property, the terms will be as is where is. Don’t believe any warranties that the seller offers.
