I’m outta here.I could stand the ‘popular screensavers’ and the ‘cartoonify yourself’ popupsBut now I get messages, badly translated, claiming I have errors on my PC and inviting me to download some software that would solve them… yeah right! Bye.

I never get any popups. I don’t think it’s the cartoon, but I agree with Jo-Jo. Political correctness confuses me, too.

@Nefa. If you’re still there.. First.. clean out your cash and temp files. You need to update or install a virus protection software like avast or avira. They are both free and work. McAfee and Norton are too cumbersome for most systems. Others have their opinions. Do some research on other steps that should be done to get rid of the malaware/virus you picked up at one of those bogus popular screensavers’ and the ‘cartoonify yourself’ sites. I am pretty certain you didn’t pick up any bugs from this site.

Loving Benny’s observation that stating a fact can be highly politically incorrect.

We now live in a wimpy society where it has become impossible to say anything about anyone without offending someone. We need more Don Rickles.

Nothing politically incorrect in that statement.

Lin-Li IS super good at math.

Now, if it was implied that such math skills were related to gender or ethnicity, such incorrectness might exist.

… EVERYBODY with an AD PROBLEM …(ok, this might get me banned, so bear with me)USE FIREFOX — INSTALL “Adblock Plus”Extremely effective at stopping maybe 95, 99 percent of the pop-up and other advertising. I use it, and I get zero advertising on GoComics, as well as most other sites I frequent.Recognize that it’s this advertising that pays for this website, so if everybody actually took my advice, they’d have to go out of business. But GoComics and others should recognize that if they didn’t make those ads so damned intrusive and annoying that we wouldn’t find it necessary to block them.

I have a pop-up blocker and AVG on my machine and don’t get these ads. Cleaning the cache files and temp files is a very good idea too.

Considering the vast array of names available for parents to name their children – Lin Li could be the first name and Jones the last. Or anything else.

Also @nefa – will get popups here (like Netflix), but not what you’re describing – your machine is infected. Like others have said, get AVG, AViRA, or if you’re running Windows, Microsoft’s Security Essentials, all effective, reasonably low overhead, and free. Norton is much improved and has low overhead compared to pre-2008 versions, but isn’t free, and McAfee is a resource hog still. Ads about “your computer is…” are always bogus, and usually a sign of infection with malware – you can’t get that information from browsing a website.

What is incorrect about saying a person is super good at math if she is? The incorrectness would be in ASSUMING that she’s good at math because of her nationality. Jo-Jo didn’t say that. Could be that he asked her simply because she gets the best math grades.
