I’m still struggling with “You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog”. I think it’s a metaphorical synergism, but I can’t be certain. But what is the meaning of the rabbit? Therein lies the key, I’m certain of it.

Ya. The song is called Strawberry Letter 23 even though the lyrics are Strawberry Letter 22 and it’s a great song!

I always wondered why it’s “22” in the lyrics but “23” in the title, so of course this strip motivated me to look it up.in case anybody else hasn’t looked it up yet, it refers to the singer receiving strawberry scented letters from his girlfriend, and he has kept all 22 that he has received so far, and eagerly anticipates number 23.

I always liked TBJ version that Quincy produced, but Shuggie’s original version to me was raw and groundbreaking.
