It takes so much time to learn to be You, and then so much time to learn to be with another person (which is why there should be a rule no marriage before age 27). Adding on a brand-new human early in a marriage seems insane, especially given the psychology of the stages of relationships (i.e. waiting past the ‘first flush’ of the first 2-3 years). [Of course, I’d personally say the happiest marriages are those that are childfree…]

The lending out sounds like a great idea…. And given her fulltime job, Marcus would be the one to do most of the borrowed childcare! That might change his mind…

Have him babysit Tommi and Teddy for a while and see how enthused he is…

Marcus really wants to be a daddy, doesn’t he?

Person needs a hobby when they retire. I guess making babies would qualify.

Marcus has time on his hands. Nicole is crazy busy with her postdoctoral project.

Should of thought this through some more, huh.

Maybe say him to retire was not a good idea after all?

What about his new NFL team? I assume there’s a lot more to that than just writing checks. Or isn’t there?

This should have been discussed before marriage.

The girl next door asked her mother to have another baby she could play with. Her mother told her to go play with ours. She did.

There was a young researcher who lived in a shoe….she had so many children she didn’t……

Aw,you’ve heard that one

This arc is making me angry. Why in h3ll didn’t they talk about this – and agree about this – a long time ago? Marcus putting this kind of pressure on Nicole for something this big is downright abusive.

Didn’t he do what she wanted by retiring? Now she’s hesitating on what he wants. This marriage won’t last long.

It would be interesting to see how Marcus does with Teddy and Tommi. After all, two of his eleven brothers are twins.

No marriage before 27? That will allow far too many sluggards to be parasites until age 26 on their parents’ medical insurance and never grow backbone at all.

Ever notice that Nicole only has one eye? ;-)
