So basically, Vic Van Streck is a one-trick pony?

Some rescues possibly should not have been rescued.

It’s difficult to even win the caption contest in “Big City” Magazine!

Funny, “The New Yorker”. Don’t waste your time on that “dream” Robb. You are better than them.

Saying you have a rescue pet is okay, as long as it’s not in answer to the question “What kind of dog is it?” (I have a rescued Ball Python)..

I wonder if Robb has had this happen to him…

very few cartoons in the newyorker are funny, ever.

The boat in the panel looks like Shark’s boat. At least that’s the first thing I thought of. Is it a foreshadowing of something to come? Dun dun dun!

I’ve been developing a one panel comic strip, myself.

The comics in the New Yorker have gradually gotten more obscure over the years as their feature cartoonists have died off, Roz Chast excluded.

I am going to have to dig out my magnifying glass. . . Or see if I can zoom the version in my online paper a little more than I can zoom this!

That last one (with the “rescue”) seems like some cartoons I’ve seen in “The Big-City Dweller.”

I’m sold! I liked those comics a lot!

I really like the idea of Godzilla being a rescue lizard. Does he do tricks? Hee Hee Hee

The three rejects get screen time, but no time for the good stuff that made print. (Go ahead and make up your own joke for that.)

What is going on in the first cartoon? It looks like a cluttered apartment and the caption says “Your voice mailbox is full”. What is the joke?

Not forgetting who actually drew these (it wasn’t “Vic Van Streck”)… These seem more in the tone of Larson’s pre Far Side cartoons, which happened to run in our local paper — remember it clearly. Not really in line with “Big City Dweller” sophisticated vibe.

I actually really liked the second one, by coincidence I just was one of those “be amazed” videos about sports starts who managed to lose their vast fortunes in a short time

Sorry but Vic is no Robb Armstrong or Chip Sansom.

I think the “Big City” is New York.

That third comic looks rather like a Charles Addams cartoon!
