I wasn’t aware that there were any newspapers that still had such a large comic section.

I can’t start my day without my comics. And caffeine. Lots of caffeine.

The comics are the only part of the paper that still has any credibility.

Funny how this generation don’t know what a “newspaper” is. And when they do, the only section that matters at all is the comic strips.

Yep. When we get the paper the funnies is the ONLY section I read. I’ll get the rest of the news when everyone tells me about it during the day. May as well start the day smiling.

Uhhh, what’s that thing in Lio’s hands? Is that NEWS paperer, or whatever they were called, back in my dad’s time?

He should take the “comix” and head underground!!!

Maybe papers should consider putting the letters to the editor in the funny pages as well. Some are beyond hilarious.

This pretty much sums up the majority of the US population. Ignoring the important stuff so they can amuse themselves with trivial things. This is why more people vote for American Idol, D.W.T.S., and The Voice than elections. They spend billions going to see movies and ballgames and play games online, but charities are struggling to survive. We have the idiots in government today because not enough people were willing to put in the effort to demand better representation in office. The USA is on a slick slope to oblivion and what are most people doing? Watching Hollywood’s idea of “superheroes” run around in tights. Pathetic.

I miss my Sunday mornings with the LA Times.

At least Lio has his priorities right.

On a whim at my local coffee shop, I recently bought a daily LA Times newspaper for $2 (hate to see what the Sunday paper goes for)…it’s truly a shadow of its former self (they used to have 2 pages of the best comics) and now there isn’t even enough paper to line the birdcage or wrap the fish with anymore. Sigh

Yup. Lio’s got the right idea. I think I’ll follow his lead.

That’s how I started with the Sunday paper when I was Lio’s age. Then I got down to the funny stuff in the main news sections….

He has to get loosened up enough to be able to brace himself for the rest of the newspaper! I always do the comics first!!

I laugh to keep from crying.

Isn’t that what we are all doing here? I love comics, but it’s a bit of a shame how we looked them up to avoid seeing the terrible, everyday news.
