TVs are one thing that have become relatively far less expensive over time.

Never seen a store full of TVs, turned off

I think we all know what choice he’ll make.

Go broke, baseball season is about to start. Then football (US) after that again.

I paid more tax on my first wide screen than what a new one that’s even bigger now costs.

Stupid store spelled “old” wrong.

The decision is TV, or, going broke. TV’s with Cathode Ray Tubes aren’t sold anymore. And, what happened to the TV that’s been in your home, since like forever?

The prices are coming down! I saw a 75 inch for $775!

Actually, I’m surprised how cheap TVs are these days. Back in the ‘60s, a “color TV!” cost around $5,000 of today’s money. I suppose you could spend that much on a flat screen, but you certainly don’t need to.

If you’re gonna go broke buying an OLED, there are MUCH less expensive flat TVs.

I remember when Sharp was a good brand.I guess depending on what model you buy, but our $300 40" Roku didn’t last 2 years.

I bought a 65" Sony TV a little over a year ago (my first new TV). It’s not an OLED, just “full array backlighting” and it is an amazing TV. You can get an OLED for a lot more, or a cheaper brand of OLED, but this was only $1K, and it doesn’t suffer from poor software like the cheapy brands, or pop-up ads like LG, or poor peak brightness like many OLEDs.

I have had the same flat screen for well over 10 years; maybe 15. It still works just fine. I don’t need to run out and buy an OLED just because they exist.
