the problem i see here is that she has no real idea how she feels for him. i think that almost immediately after that conversation ended, both luann and quill felt a major flush of embarrassment.

When I was dating, the way a girl ended a relationship was to say “Lets just be Friends.” And the guy usually realized this was a friend he was never going to see or hear from again. Luann doesn’t realize this because she does all she can to keep romance from occuring. If you never fall in love, you never have to worry about it ending; right Luann?

Eyup, this relationship’s goin’ nowhere… I definitely would’ve hung up on Luann too. With every guy she’s always leading them on and whining when they don’t start begging to go out with her. I can’t help but think Quill’s better off without her and moving on.

Why??? Act interested, get treated like furniture. Treat them like furniture & they’re interested. The fear of rejection, could power a vehicle to the ends of the Earth, & has if you consider drama (or comedy) as a vehicle. Art does resemble life.

Hey, Luann? That “Playing HARD to Get” bit? Hasn’t WORKED for Gals since the 50s.

Oh well. While it was a foolish move on Luann’s part since she does like him and wants to have the boyfriend/girlfriend relationship with Quill, I for one, would not be overly upset if Quill left the comic for good. It is not that I am anti-Quill… it is just that in my opinion, Quill is the most boring character Greg uses in his comic. Pretty much everyone else… Mom, Dad, Luann, Brad, Toni, TJ, Dirk, Crystal, Knute, Bernice, Shannon, Delta, Tiffany, etc…. is more engaging and interesting. Quill seems mostly like a “caricature” of a stereotypical smooth, “cool” guy …. we do not get to see much depth in his character development (at least not yet).

That jerk!!!!! Totally had a guy do this to me!! One day you’re obviously romantic and kissing, the next day ’we’re just friends.’

CORRECTION: I thought Luann was the one asking him out and he was the one saying they’re just friends, so she’s the jerk!!

I think Quill was just teasing her since it’s obvious they both care for each other.

Well, what’s a gentleman to do? She did give him the standard “let’s be friends” treatment. His pause shows that was not what he wanted. He certainly wanted more than platonics.

Next time Luann sees Quill she should walk up to him and. PUBLICALLY, Give him a ‘liplock’ like hes never had before.

I thought they agreed to just be friends because Quill doesn’t know how long he’s going to be in town and they didn’t want to get Hot N Heavy and then have to break it off …

Poor Luann is going to die alone…

ugh…just checked out the “Luann Sings” link…my recommendation to all is DON’T DO IT!!! You will lose brain cells as a result. I feel measurably dumber as a result.

Yeah… I’m kinda thinking this is going to be one of those “if only I had done this differently” moments that haunt an adult Luann. Unless, of course, she realizes that HE has feelings — behind all that cool — and she might have hurt him, and that it’s up to her to make the next move. Better be a good one, too.

I can’t wait to hear what vldazzle has to say about today’s comic. She might start out by saying that true love takes time and that Quill and Luann are just like two ships that go bump in the night. And then she can go completely off topic and discuss her Precious Bodily Fluids. (Dr. Strangelove reference)

Greg has always let his plot lines develop organically. He’s not going to rush a single thing — genius!

Well, now, it’s obvious (to me) that the next thing for Luann to do is to call Quinn back and then ask him out: explaining that she had thought it over and decided she was mistaken: friends could ask each other out. It just means that the relationship gets a step closer. and what does that mean? well, they’ll just have to discuss it and decide what it means to them…

interesting idea of friends from Lue, they don’t go out in “official dates”, but go to see a play with her brother and his GF, he invited her to a new year’s party and no one else, and they have kissed a few times in the mouth(including once in front of the school)…………………… now the question is, is she mad at herself, or is she foolishly mad at Quill?

If she likes him at all , she should now dissolve in tears.

Let’s have Quill call Tiff next. Maybe that will fall flat and he call another and another of the girls.

Well, now … we know Luann will call Quill back and suggest that they NOT be friends!

The school year will begin as it always does. Luann will lament about how her summer vacation did not live up to her expectations. As always, she probably had fantasies about meeting a cute boy and spending the summer romancing together.Well those fantasies were about to become a reality until Luann threw up a barricade saying, “Road Closed due to Stupidity”.

friends that kiss on the mouth? that is what wrong with today, my mom said that in olden times, boys used to go “around the block” until the girl or sometimes the girl’s parents invited him inside, and just 10 or 20 years ago, if a boy and girl were already in “kissing terms”, they were considered a “couple”, not friends

Wait… Greg, this is your latest reality check. If your character is really a female teen in the year 2011, then you should know she’s about to spend the next several hours texting herself numb. Quill… Bernice… everyone she knows borne within two years of herself, including Tiffany. Why… she’d even be texting Arron Hill!!
