it funny is that the children are more aware of things than tiff i think the tide has turned
JayBluE over 11 years ago
Lol! âWhatâs going onâ to Tiff is definitely not âwhatâs going onâ to these kidsâŠ.. Time for another crack at it, Tiff! Relax, relate âŠ. and then release!âŠ.
kfccanada over 11 years ago
For her to think these little kids would know anything at all about her past/ current life is sheer idiocy. Those kids are facing challenges that Tiff probably has never had to even think about for a moment. This career choice is definitely not the one for her. She needs to work in a shelter/ food bank for at least a month before she gets to work with these kiddoes again.
JayBluE over 11 years ago
Itâs heck to get old and irrelevant⊠^Yeah, usually one or the other is trouble enough! Poor Tiff, having to deal with both at the same timeâŠ.

In preparation for the upcoming anniversary of the Mrs. and I on the 14th, I usually change all of my pictures on my computer(s), home media and phone to reflect this, and this year, am glad to add my GoComics avatar to the list! â SeaJam is our combined names, and reflects common themes between us. It is also a name I use for media and writing projects that I undertake, and some other stuff, as wellâŠ
sarafaye over 11 years ago
Oh yeah, that too.

Iâd like to add âWhatâs Going Onâ by Marvin Gaye and âWhatâs Up?â by 4 Non Blondes to the playlist, to add to whatever JPW or anyone else may haveâŠ.

Guess Greg didnât have the heart to write âWhatâs a comic strip?â Funny, but it hits too close to home.
JayBluE over 11 years ago
And also âIt Never Rains In Southern Californiaâ by Albert Hammond. Very pertinent lyrics, in view of Tiffâs line of approach with the kids.

Thanks! This year, weâll either have to do it a few days early, or a few days later, since itâs on a Monday, this year (aargh, Mondays, Lol!)⊠but at least thereâs one to still enjoy! â Glad you guys got back safe! And I take it that it was a nice evening, huh?
Sisyphos over 11 years ago
Their responses to her question indicate that the kids âknow whatâs going onâ in the real world far better than Tiffany doesâŠ. Maybe she will learn something from them.

Tiff, itâs NOT all about you! Youâd think Tiff would be trying to give the girls makeup tips, by now

This is sort of making me feel bad for Tiff (as this strip tends to do in cycles with this character for me). She doesnât have many other ways of communicating with anybody else except by talking about herself and/or constantly thinking about herself.
jimshari222 over 11 years ago
Tiff says âREAL life is me, Me, ME!â
watmiwori over 11 years ago
If some Japanese outfit made a mechano-samurai cartoon parody of it, the kids might see it some Saturday morningâŠand probably change the channel immediately!

jeanie5448 over 11 years ago
these kids donât know and donât want to know what is going on in Tiffanyâs life. They all have issues and problems of their own and in their family. The childrenâs issues are WAY more important than anything Tiffany can come up with.

Hereâs another way of looking at Tiffany: she might be suffering from a mental disorder called ânarcissismâ, where the patient is totally obsessed with herself (or himself). Not as awful as dementia, because thereâs no proof that narcissism is a disease of the brain.

I know this is a comic (which I totally enjoy), but I am having a hard time with this arc and the fact that Tiffany got hired by a so called âeducatorâ with absolutely no qualifications what so ever.

Anything appropriate by Shania Twain? ^Though itâs sung from her point of view to a guy, but strictly in the sense of refuting superficial concerns, âThat Donât Impress Me Muchâ is the first thing Iâd think ofâŠ

Good One!â Also of note, âLegend In Your Own Mindâ is also a song in itâs own right, a title for several artists, with their own respective lyrics for their version. One in particular is from Sylvia, famous for her hit, âPillow TalkââŠ

The other day, my 47 yr old son asked me, as part of his interview for his writing my lifeâs story, âWhat did you learn from us kids?â My answer in part is that things donât turn out like you expect them to. I suspect that Tiff will learn that lesson from these children.

Jewel Clanton was a prominent B-movie actress in the late 1980s and 1990s appearing in dozens of really low-budget horror and exploitation movies. She was a big celebrity to the niche audience who bought all those films on VHS and who stood in line at horror conventions to get her autograph, but of course the main-stream move audience was completely unaware of those films or her role in them. She wrote an autobiography of being a B-movie actress in Hollywood called âIf Iâm So Famous, How Come No One Has Heard of Me?â

âDoing a noble deed for someone else might shed light on a area of her life that has always been in the dark.â I wonder if she is even capable of doing that. But, perhaps, she just might be able to do so if sheâll just quit looking at herself in the mirror as one poster wrote⊠;)
ORMouseworks over 11 years ago
âWould that make Frank and Nancy part of the âPeace and Loveâ 60s flower generationâŠâ Definitely the 60s or even the early 70s, otherwise theyâd be too old to have a teenager in high school⊠;)
JayBluE over 11 years ago
Yâknow? I forgot about another aspect of all of thisâŠ.Today, you have all of these âReality Starsâ, getting famous in⊠letâs just say, âunsavory waysâ, e.g.: Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian (The âK Networkâ reference in the âsponsorsââŠ), etc. Also, the âHoney Boo-Boosâ out there, even the Bethenny Frankels, Omorosas, etc. from the former versions of âthe Apprenticeâ, or some other person making theirselves famous in infamous ways (what an oxy-maroon!), then, boom! Alll on talk shows, etc, using up more of their 15 Min. than anyone else ever got.. -But, flash back to pre-1990⊠NONE of these aforementioned ones would get even so much as a sniff, or maybe a scoffing glanceâŠ. (at least for the most part) They would have to work very hard in some Hollywood manner (in all of the legal and moral ways, Iâm speaking ofâŠ) in order to get even a once-over on a talk show, or what have you.. One example, is all the one-hit wonders of the 70s-90s⊠Nowadays, Miss Cyrus and a bunch of others keep themselves in conversations with âinfamous behaviorââŠ

> Tiffany may be a flirt and a tease, but I am not 100% certain she is sexually active.>Tiffany has the thick lips that this strip uses to indicate which female characters are, shall we say, âexperiencedâ. Thick lips: Nancy, Toni, Tiffany, Crystal, Rosa. Thin lips: Luann, Bernice, Delta (and Shannon).
bronzeskater over 11 years ago
I donât see Tiff as being sexually active. Sheâs interested in herself and being âthe loveliest of them allâ, not in reaching out to othersâa real experience and relationship might spoil her makeup!!
