Isn’t it “ironic”? If you’re “tired” at the end of the day, or you are ready to leave a job,, then you can Re tire….

In some ways I can currently relate to Mr. Fogery. I am 2 months and 13 days away from being eligable to retire (though not being financially ABLE to retire yet). I’ve been having flashbacks lately. I still remember the interview which got me the job. I still remember the door I went through my first day. I remember my bosses. The good, the bad, and espeically the one S.O.B. boss.

Third panel: 113, eh? Did Greg Evens go to Cal Arts? (A113 is the room for introductory animation, and is referenced in many animated movies, notably Pixar and Disney.)

Mr. Fogarty will invite Miss Phelps to accompany him on his first real vacation. They’ll go to Rio and visit the nude beaches. While there, Fogarty will search for “The Girl From Ipanema! LOL

Yeah, from this, it would appear that Fogarty is leaving the strip. Greg may surpirse us, but if they’re doing a weekly retrospective, I think he’s not to return. Ah well. Lu may very well be moving on on several levels.

I’m seeing this portion of the strip wrapping up..Will the whole strip be wrapping up to, or will Luann be going off to college and we get to tag along?

Instead of wondering what Greg will do and complaining about it, why not enjoy what he has given us. There is not worse than those that are not grateful for the gifts they are given.

I made the Banana-Raisin bread this weekend— and it was very good! Thanks for the recipe! (Nancy tried it, said it was good but yours was better.) But it did not rise as I had expected— when adding the dry ingredients & the bananas alternately to the margarine/sugar, do you use an electric mixer? I equated it with a muffin recipe so beat it by hand.

As though we couldn’t figure out the arc by ourselves..DaJellyBelly: The last I heard (a couple years ago) the “girl” was co-hosting a Rio talk show with her daughter. Shouldn’t be too hard to find.

And Be Sure to Tune for FUTURE Episodes When a BORED Mr. Foghat decides to come OUT of “Retirement” and Teach on a College Level only to find out He’ll be Teaching the SAME Bunch of Ungrateful, Smart-As**ed, Miscreants.

Funny, but today’s strip is about old fogies such as many of us— and at noon my time there are fewer than 50 comments. Yet, when the stip is purely about h.s. kids, we often near 100 comments at this time.*Are we relating more to h.s. kids than to our agemates? Or are the lives of h.s. kids more exciting than our own?

As I commented a few days ago; I was awaiting more “prom adventures” from the other cast members; seeing as Evans took the time to pair them up in specific scenes, and then, NADA . And apparently, it was the journey rather than the destination seeing as nothing further occurred to Luann, et al once they arrived at the prom. They might as well have been depicted as taking a big, group nap after their Burger Barn run.Instead, Evans goes straight to a lazy arc where he gets to retread old story lines and even cut and paste these “memories” as if he didn’t already have a nostalgia version of the strip going. All I can figure is that this is the cartoonists’ version of the " In Memoriam " section of awards shows and that any major character that gets this treatment is about to be written out (minor characters just disappear). Not-ready-for-higher-education Knute better watch out!The prom arc ended with a dud ( Tiffany didn’t even throw a tiff), and this one has started out a dud..

Remember when Phelps and Fogarty started acting like cool kids until they overheard Luann saying that all the kids were laughing at them? I enjoyed that arc, and I didn’t notice anyone laughing at them.

People who have watched old TV series may remember what happened when Dobie Gillis & Maynard G. Krebs got out of the Army and attended S. Peter Pryor Junior College— they found that Mr. Pomfritt, formerly of their old high school, was teaching there! This may be the reason some people expect Fogarty to not be leaving the strip…
