Oh, don’t give T.J. any ideas, Mr. DeGroot.
JayBluE about 10 years ago
So the settlement wasn’t due to any votes, but just so that TJ could have a run in a story.. – It seems appropriate (although probably not deliberately done for this), that TJ’s jacket is “chequered”… as in “a checkered history”… – This story plot potential seems like a volleyball score, also relating to TJ’s specialty- a “set-up” and “serve”!

And yet another warehouse in the run-down district will get torched for the insurance. Maybe Dez and her friends back at Moony are having a Halloween celebration that’s not centered on planning a felony. Let’s go see, OK? Enough’s emough, of this same old crew.

I smell a “Dinner-Theatre” in the budding!
Who do you have to bribe to get re-zoned in this town?
Meh~tdology, fka Pepelaputr about 10 years ago
This old warehouse has the potential to never pay for itself.
ORMouseworks about 10 years ago
Its nice and comfortable to see the old crowd interacting with each other… I really did not care for Dez and company… ;)
JayBluE about 10 years ago
A slight “Charlie Brown return”, in the form of Frank’s sweater….

The graphpaper jacket would also blend in well at a “square dance”……

A sure fire way to not make money: Open up a live theater place. Totally a Labor of Love. Also I’m not sure TJ can get insurance…

Well, as much as I am enjoying the heck out of today’s comments, need to go as company is coming over later on in the day (Saturday). ’Nite all! ;)-——————————————————————“My heart leaps up when I behold A rainbow in the sky: So was it when my life began; So is it now I am a man; So be it when I shall grow old, Or let me die! The Child is father of the Man; And I could wish my days to be Bound each to each by natural piety.”(William Wordsworth, 1770-1850)

What light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the son..Funny, I always thought Juliet was a girl..Well, probably not in the early days…“At the Restoration in 1660, Shakespeare’s plays were divided between the two newly licensed companies: the King’s Company of Thomas Killigrew and the Duke’s Men of William Davenant. The licensing system prevailed for two centuries…innovation was the order of the day for Restoration companies. John Downes reports that the King’s Men initially included some Caroline actors… Perhaps most noticeably, boy players were replaced by actresses.”

I like how Mom DeGroot already has figured it out.
JimT8 about 10 years ago
TJ can lease it, requiring the owner to bring it up to code.
StoicLion1973 about 10 years ago
TJ has the mind of an entrepreneur but not the drive of a business owner. But, with the right incentive (and partner(s)) this could be interesting!

Can we put this “TJ hatches another scheme” story on the shelf now and finally see Luann in her community college next week? Or was her answering a role and sitting on wet grass all that we’ll ever know of her “college experience”?
vldazzle about 10 years ago
I agree- good to see that Dez and friends were a no-show. Of COURSE, T.J. will invest his insurance money in this enterprise and use it for a party and theater place.
I have to share my Halloween photo (taken by a neighbor last night):

How long before he gets bored with it and the building mysteriously burns down?

Why would you jump on a poor misunderstood kid like TJ who has many more demons to overcome than your beloved Tiffany? All Tiff needs is my recommended dousing of assorted coldcut rejects and she learns humility and empathy for the downtrodden. Whereas TJ has clinical needs to scam and speculate in order to learn the Path to Enlightenment. Your recommendation to incinerate is harsh.

Go T.J. Go!!
Sisyphos about 10 years ago
Oh, geesh! It looks as though TJ has already found another way to lose other people’s money! Frank, you have cursed this crew! Too late, Nancy, too late!Okay, everbody pitch in; TJ, take credit for the brief initial success and then duck aside when it all goes south and let the pies hit everyone else’s face….I give it half a year.

I’ll place my bet: I say it takes TJ 6 months to convert the theater into a restaurant, drive the business into the ground, then suffer an ‘inexplicable’ gas leak/explosion.
thefloyd about 10 years ago
YES! TJ will rock this place. This is just the kind of thing he needs.

I think Dora needs an intervention… – Anytime she asks someone a question, and then she ignores it and does what she wants, anyway… Plus, anyone who runs into foxes, cows, plus umpteen mountains, talking trees, talking maps, etc. has got to be helped…
