Last week, one poster was wondering if Dez and Bernice were still roommates. Looks like the answer is ‘yes’…

I pity the people whose newspapers only carry the Sunday strip, because they will have no idea what today’s is about.

I think most of them could figure out something of what had happened.

I think she will need something stronger than tea to forget Piro.

Good thing about the Sunday strip is it allows G&K to bring back characters we have not seen in a while to make cameo appearances.

I noemally don’t care about the romantic glop in these strips, but I WOULD like to see Gunther and Bernice link up. Greg, PLEASE get rid of this Piro character!

Late last night under yesterday’s strip Brd and i had fun thinking of actual songs that could apply to today’s strip. Anyone have some additional selections?

Was it Mark Twain, who said (and here I paraphrase), “After much research, I have discovered that Shakespeare did not write the famous plays, but another man of the same name.”?

He’s the Piro Denise deserves, but not the one she needs right now.

Never seen Dez crack a book, is she a student? At least we see Tiffany and Gunther actually working on school assignments.

Maybe Bernice should see if a few of her friends are willing to go to Piro’s friends and ask if Piro likes Bernice, then run away giggling.

Oh, wait, Bernice is an adult in college, not a 5th grader. So maybe she could try talking to Piro herself. We’ve already seen that her plan of setting up a dorm event that she doesn’t want anyone but Piro to show up for is unlikely to work.

i wrote a book a few years back whose plot included the heroine falling in love with a boy she only met twice, the second time being when he took her hostage. When the chemistry is right, it is right, and nothing will stop it.

Yesterday Frank & Nancy asked what names they’d have grandkids use. I think a prior question is what name your new daughter-in-law will use. “Nancy” is the style now, but I bet Toni might want to call her “Mom”.

And today’s strip reminds me of sharing a house and kitchen with my best friend in college— we’d drink tea and talk for hours. (Kind of selfish as our other housemates felt excluded, though we invited them too)

I haven’t drunk tea regularly since.

This means pretty clearly that Piro is on Bernice’s mind, even as she tries to obscure the memory. Her ID is telling the truth, her Ego does not want to admit. My question is whether this is just a quick update on a developing arc that we may see as an interruption to the wedding plans, or actually the restart of the Bernice-Piro arc, and if so does Gunther come into the picture? Tiffany? One hopes Rosa? Luannverse time will tell.

OR Mouse, i saw that the worst of your weather may be past sometime today. If you have power, please, let folks here know you are okay when you get on.

Face up to it, Bernice. You are imagining PIRO. He’s heavy on your mind. You can’t shake the thought of him; at least not yet. More interaction with the Piro might help to resolve your feelings and how valid they are or are not….

Regarding Piro: You have the strong, silent type and you have the creepy, silent type. Piro fits into the latter category.

Looking at the current frontrunners, #615 is still my favorite, though I’m not sure how much of that is the quality of the actual dress or that the art is very on-model.

Piro has to come back. last time, her brother (Gunther) wanted to hit on her. ugh! hopefully at Bwad and Toni’s wedding we’ll see a lot of coming forward among them all.

Slightly off-topic …

Just posted over on the Dick Tracy board the notion of a peaceful, organized protest against the current set of limitations/restrictions which have been imposed on comments here.

I’d suggested composing a signature line, picking a date in the relatively near future, and requesting everyone who has issues with the limitations add the signature line to each of their posts on that date.

Example …

“Free Speech Has No Character Limit.”

Thinking out loud tonight, I guess.

Maybe Bernice and Brittany need to make pornos for Pyro.

[ As I might have mentioned here before, a few of our commentators over on the Tracy boards in particular have been hit hard and been creatively hamstrung by the character limit – which includes html formatting. ]

Here is the latest update from several days ago on what they plan to change and how. It does not say much. BTW, they are raising the price and giving it a fancy new title (Oh, gee whillikers!)
