It would be funny if Greg drew Brad as he is now in the first two panels, then as the blob he used to be in the last two panels while Toni is giving him a kiss. Probably work better on April Fool’s Day…
Oh, there are several places this arc could go. Could they be starting to plan a family of their own? Are they considering adopting Shannon (and the fight that may ensue from Jonah)? How would they resolve the TJ roommate issue? Are they planning something totally different? The possibilities are endless…
But, at least, it’s good to see them again and in a very “happy” state…
Maybe somebody (Luann?) is going to invite Toni to the “lingerie” party. Since there’s a distinct possibility something illegal will be going on, eventually all the female characters in the strip could wind up in jail. Tiffany will beg her father to bail them out. He refuses until he discovers that his new girlfriend is one of them.
They say couples start to look alike after they’ve been married a while. Fortunately, Brad is getting better looking instead of Toni getting dorkier looking.
1. Since I did not get to be on-line on Saturday, I wanted to say that I was very pleased to see ALL FOUR of the folks enjoy each other’s company while they watched the ST Marathon. It was nice to see and I think Greg did a WONDERFUL job in terms of constructing the story with that ending. Very, very nice.
2. It was a bit of a surprise to me to realize through today’s comic that it has been a real-world calendar year since the comics of Brad & Toni’s wedding.
3. In the timing scheme of the Luanniverse, since I believe Luann and the college crowd is only in their second year, it is an interesting construct that Brad & Toni are apparently aging faster than Luann and the college gang. If I recall, I think there was already a bit of this sort of divergence in aging between Brad and Toni. If memory serves correctly, I think initially back in the 80s, Brad and Luann were only two years apart. In the current time frame, I believe most have suggested they are now about 5-6 years apart in age.
4. I fully suspect and anticipate an unexpected arrival of Shannon will throw a wrench in Brad & Toni’s wedding anniversary plans. Jonah will likely have some “emergency” gig where he will be substituting for some other troubadour at the last minute.
5. Although it seems that “Sheriff” is not around and commenting anymore (although he may be in some other guise)…. I must say I appreciate the nuanced sky color today especially. The blue/grey color chosen does to me give a very strong “December” sort of vibe.
6. A small aside…. to me…. it seems as if Greg has drawn Toni’s lips to be smaller and less pronounced than he has done in the past. While they were fine before, I would say that I do like the drawing of her lips in this new, slightly reduced fashion.
We really seem to be flying through these story arches with no resolutions whatsoever. Now we’re back on Brad and Toni, which is cool, they are one of the best couples in comics. Now did Jonah ever come back? Or is Shannon still living with them?

Toni is blonde and very tall for a girl. She reminds me of Laura Dern.
Laura is usually the tallest actress in her films. She may be 5’8" – 5’10".
See her in Citizen Ruth at age 29, or Blue Velvet at age 19. Both top films.

Pipe and coffee break musings for today:
