THAT’S the aftermath of what you get when you buy Ornately Wrapped, packaged “GIFTS!”
Frank was going to buy gift cards.
Oh No! THAT wasn’t Good Enough! “Too Easy,” The People said.
“Doesn’t require Thought,” the People said.
“Gift cards, don’t come from the heart,” the People said.
And THAT is why Politicians don’t listen to the People. But I digress.
Now, you have a MESS to clean up. Enjoy! And when you’re done, have FUN standing in line today to return those “gifts,” two thirds of which you Didn’t even WANT.
Next year, GIFT CARDS. No fuss, no Muss, No MESS! Or better still, CASH!
A little bit of Christmas regret, but hey try not to go through life with regrets. Try anyway! Besides IMHO the DeGroots have nothing to be regretful about with their two. Good kids, normal, not off the rails at all. That is baseline no regret territory with children.
That’s all it is about, Frank. Better to clean up the wrappers than clean up after kids that aren’t going anywhere. One fights fires while the other doesn’t even know how to start one. Merry Xmas, Frank.
Frank, try this next Christmas: Grab a plastic trash bag, sit by the tree, and have everyone toss the torn gift papers in the trash bag. When everyone’s done with opening gifts, you’re also done with cleaning. Just pull the tie and put it out to the trash bin. This is what we do in my family – it was my idea at the first Christmas Eve with the whole extended families at an aunt’s house. I thought, whoa, imagine all the wrapping papers all over so I grabbed a trash bag and followed the gift openers with the bag.

No, Mr. D … it was a LACK of “planning and prep” that got you where you are today.
