I think it was almost like 9-11, we all know where we were then. We missed it; but we were on our honeymoon, camping in the bottom of the Grand Canyon.
In late 1969 – months after the moon landing – I happened to be at the CBS News studio in New York City where they had a replica of the lunar landing module. I was amazed at how small and compact it was, and how cramped those astronauts would have been.
There was not a scintilla of wasted space. It was truly a remarkable piece of engineering for the time.
It gave me a sense of pride knowing that my Dad had been involved in developing and producing the electronic circuit boards they used.

So there’s a remote chance it happened?

Like most governments, they kept the best tech to themselves. So yes, I believe we landed on the moon.

Literally millions of TV remotes were sold in the 60s. The infra-red remote became popular in the 80s.

I watched the landing and Sputnik in school.
