It’s going to be difficult to go back in the office and attend meetings. I think I am losing my ability to feign interest and to stay awake for meetings.
If you yawn, someone will pick up on it, but at least you are attending. If you cut off the screen, they will assume you are not listening either.
When cells became ubiquitous, complaints were heard that ‘bosses’ and others would call at all hours with work-related issues. In short, that the ‘office’ never closed at 5pm. Now there are complaints that ‘work from home,’ on-line conferencing has taken on that same undesirable time-consuming custom.
Be interesting to see how that shakes out in the future, where some pundits see less use of central offices and more work from elsewhere as the new norm.
The only reason for scheduling a meeting is that it has been a month since the last one and the only things agreed upon are 1) donuts, 2) adjournment, 3) scheduling the next meeting.
