That’s what bedtime stories are for. Where did you learn to parent?

Tell him something about when you first started dating. That should do it.

Here’s my counter proposal – go to bed before I make staying up less interesting.

Must not have a computer or TV in his room! Good!

We did not tell our sons that they had to go to sleep. We told them they had to go to bed and be quiet. There were no fights and they were down for the count within 15 minutes.

“But mom! Big pharma has a new kids’ sleeping drug I’ve seen on TV, and all the other kids get to use it!”

Make him stay up all night. He’ll sleep like a log for the next week and respect his bedtime ever after.

That’s what reading in bed is all about. :)

As kids we had glow-in-the-dark stars and comets on our ceiling. It was very relaxing to lay back and see the heavens and may have been the seed for my obsession with astronomy and space.

How about a butt that glows in the dark? That would help him “get interested”.

“How about this: If you DON’T go to bed, being AWAKE is going to get WAY more interesting…”
