Awful lot of artwork went into the background of P1. (Unless it’s a copy/paste of a sheet music page), but not being a musician, I have no if what it depicts is a real musical selection.
There’s a Gounod arrangement of “Ave Maria” that uses that Bach piece as the accompaniment. I actually like it better than the more frequently performed Schubert “Ave Maria”.
Reminds me of the Far Side cartoon where cows are standing up in a pasture (drinking coffee or something, can’t remember) when their lookout yells “Car” and the cows go down to all fours and start grazing until the car passes, then go back to whatever they were doing…
Like Professor Ximet, Fleshy has traveled through time only from 50 million years in the future and Ximet hasn’t noticed it yet, I wonder how he would react?
[He might even secretly know it from Fleshy’s unusual chronoton count.]
Fleshy is the best hairless cat in all the comics!
In panel 1 he plays like a classical concert master. Then, in panel 2 he hears someone coming. So, panel 3, he fakes pounding the electric keyboard senselessly, like an ordinary cat.
Fleshy is brilliant, secretive, talented And, best of all, he regularly harasses Sedgwick Nuttingham III, whose estate is (astonishingly) adjacent or at least near to Monty’s home….

Fleshy doesn’t want anyone to steal his newly composed symphony, “3 blind mice….with gravy”.

Knowing how Monty could react, Fleshy is doing the most reasonable thing.

Surely, a cat playing even like in the last panel would get you on TV, never mind the noise.
