I really like the idea of giving Nancy a new friend like this. I think we could see some great sparks fly here! (not to mention a formidable co-conspirator)
I tried this new version but I have a hard time getting beyond the truly amateurish artwork. I just noticed GoComics offers Nancy Classics—a far better option—at least for me. Au revoir!
Gilchrest’s Nancy was sometimes saccharine and preachy, and sometimes lacking urbanity. Bushmiller’s was awful when I was a kid, but now has a kitschy charm to it. This is simply awful, and unlike others who are bailing, I’m gonna poke around and comment on this awfulness from time to time.
I posted this message yesterday but it didn’t show up so I will try again. I was pleased when a woman was chosen to do the strip. But after several weeks I just do not like her version. I don’t understand it often. Perhaps that is a generational thing(I’m 75). Whatever the reason I will give it to the end of the month and stop reading it. For those who do enjoy it, I hope that the strip continues.
Took me maybe 10 minutes last night to come up with a two-week story arc of strips that were deliberately timeless and also still family-friendly. Makes me wonder how little time went into planning this strip here.

I haven’t read Nancy since I was about 11 – 54 years ago. Has she always had a bit of a pugnacious attitude? I can’t remember.

Where is the old Nancy? This is like a new cartoon and should be called something else.

To care the least, you have to not care about how much anyone else cares. You both lose.

The new Nancy became a teen, with that, she developed all those negative qualities..

Thank you for not having Nancy-Beta say: “I could care less.” That’s grammatically incorrect and drives me up a wall.

I’m starting to care less about this version of Nancy!
