Thin man: Ok, you promised not to wipe them out in a flood again, but you never said anything about not bring back dinosaurs.
“Merry Minuet” was written by Sheldon Harnick in about 1958, performed by The Kingston Trio, Harry Belafonte, and others...
They’re rioting in AfricaThey’re starving in SpainThere’s hurricanes in Florida and Texas needs rain. The whole world is festering with unhappy soulsThe French hate the GermansThe Germans hate the PolesItalians hate YugoslavsSouth Africans hate the DutchAnd I don’t like anybody very much. But we can be tranquil and thankfulAnd proud for man’s been endowedWith a mushroom shaped cloudAnd we know for certain thatSome lovely day someone will set the spark offAnd we will all be blown away. They’re rioting in AfricaThere’s strife in IranWhat nature doesn’t do to us will be done by our fellow man
He actually said nothing of the sort. It was presumed, by the end of the global flooding, that there was some promise made. We still fear global flooding today, and base political social movements on them, rooted in a new covenant where we forego the use of hydrocarbon fuels in exchange for no global flooding.A bargain with a fiction isn’t much better than a bargain with a monster, though, aside from the obvious difference that a monster may be slain, where a fiction can not. Other than that, neither is likely to honor any bargain made.
There are four hurricanes in the Pacific right now, and we’re waiting for the Cascadia Subduction Zone to have an earthquake like the world hasn’t seen for centuries, and the Yellowstone Basin may be a world-changing supervolcano. So the punchline should be: You promised never again with a flood, but you never made any promises about earth, air, or fire . . .
Dr. Ian Malcolm: God creates dinosaurs. God destroys dinosaurs. God creates man. Man destroys God. Man creates dinosaurs.Dr. Ellie Sattler: Dinosaurs eat man. Woman inherits the earth.
Why not bring back the unicorns too? Oh, that’s right, the dinosaurs would eat ‘em all. OK, how ’bout just the unicorns, then? They’re all colorfully sparkly and everything…Al;ways grazing on rainbows and farting butterflies….It would be cool and stuff!
An op ed in this morning’s Tampa Bay Times deals with how increasingly devastating hurricanes could unleash a 36-foot wall of water on Tampa-across-the-bay-from-me.http://www.tampabay.com/opinion/columns/column-hurricane-threats-intensify/2243675
@Pelican47,Mr.Sherman, and Varnes: Thanks for the info. Especially the part about unicorns and butterflies…never read THAT in any science fiction/fantasy.
Robert Frost:Some say the world will end in fire,Some say in ice. From what I’ve tasted of desireI hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice,I think I know enough of hateTo say that for destruction iceIs also greatAnd would suffice.
It is difficult to credit G-d with the attributes many religions do especially as we are exposed to incredible, inhumane cruelty every day in His/Her/Its name. Of course this barbarity is not new but our means of communicating it is.If man’s inhumanity to man hasn’t caused G-d to destroy the world by now it is unlikely to happen soon. We had better get our house in order — G-d clearly isn’t going to do it for us — one way or the other.
“What nature will not do to us, we will do to ourselves….. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~And we’re doin’ a heck of a job, Brownie!Overpopulating as if there’s no tomorrow. What did you THINK would happen?
Y’know .. He DID promise not to destroy the earth by a flood again (so much for glaciers melting) – but He ALSO promised that next time it would be by fire.

So are you with the those who think they can incarnate where they want, what family etc? Or is it just random or is there a karma factor involved?-Actually, both. As a soul evolves in consciousness and learns the lessons given in each lifetime, and discharges more karmic debts therein, eventually this soul takes an increasingly active part in determining its own reincarnations/lessons. Think of it like an earthly school: at first we have no say in determining our curriculum, then in high school we plan much of it, then at university we determining the whole program pursuant to our major (our calling, or dharma).-Between lives we work off some karma (hell, purgatory), then collect our reward as we have earned it/been granted it (heaven), like summer vacation. The REAL goal is no further need to have an earthly life—graduation, if you will. We then merge into The Absolute One-ness (Godlike). That’s how I see it. Not everyone has this belief/philosophy/view, and that’s OK. As it is OK for me to have mine. Regardless of how another may see my position.
We don’t use the term ‘Jehovah’, which was a mistranslation of ‘Yahweh’. What might be of some interest is the fact that those who use Hebrew understand that most vowels are shown as small symbols below or above consonants. In the Torah itself, vowels are not included at all.
Even if the world will not be flooded entirely again—if the Antarctic ice sheets let go, the oceans will rise by something like 60 meters (200 feet), which would not flood the whole world—but would do a number on nearly every coastal city in the world, inundating the homes of well over a billion people—perhaps as much as half the human population on Earth.

If He did bring the dinosaurs back, would it be considered “the Raptor Rapture” ?
