Lucy: Umm...
Danae: What...
Lucy:I was just wondering......Did you ever think something spooky might be under the bed?
Danae: NOT UNTIL NOW, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!
Lucy: You're welcome.
Lucy, Danae’s sock on the end of the bed should keep almost anything away….I know mine would….Actually, with mine, I’d probably have to clean up dead monsters in the morning…
You have a talking horse, and a skull night lamp and you’re worried about something under the bed? The only thing under the bed is your dirty socks, and the dust bunnies multiplying.
… and any part of your arms and legs that aren’t under the blanket gets chopped off!*My Mom used to say, “Dust to dust. There’s someone under your bed but I don’t know if they’re coming or going.”
A bit of air freshener will take care of the monsters. They flee from pretty things. When I was a kid, the things under my bed were always seals. I’d never seen one in real life, we didn’t live near the coast, but seals it was.
Is monsters under the bed or in the closet an American phenomenon. I lived in Ireland and England as a child and I never heard of or feared such things nor ever heard of anyone else being scared of them either. We had no equivalent either.
Back in the day, I had a job delivering and assembling furniture. While assembling a kids’ bunk bed set, the kids kept getting underfoot, until I warned them that if they persisted, I would install an EXTRA set of Mattress Monsters! (Problem solved)

I once had a skunk under my bed, but “spooky” is the wrong adjective.

Well, if something under the bed is drooling, Bill Watterson is going to sue.

Maybe that is a trade? Anxious comforting pal like Lucy. Of course Danae has to take her chances.
