Time to institute a new superstition CB. When they used to air the LLWS, they’d always interview the kids & ask them if they had any pre-game superstitions. They ranged from not changing socks or underwear to eating certain things, to patting a team mascot stuffed animal. Plenty of options!
Used to be very superstitious (OCD??). Managed to greatly reduce it, except now when I play softball. Lots to distract you playing LF. But if I follow my superstitions, then i can focus on catching or hitting the ball, so it does work!
I do hope professional baseball games start up soon. It just isn’t summer without them. I still miss Harry Caray calling the plays. The voice of baseball…. RIP.
I’m not sure it matters very much because the batters always seem to smack line drives back to the mound which send most of Charlie Brown’s clothes—including his shoes and his socks—flying.
In the original missing second panel, Charlie Brown sits up in bed and says, "Another game today . . . if we win we’ll only be ten games out of seventh place . . . "

The title panel made it seem we were going to continue the arc of the last few days…

Now CB is all tied in a knot. Instead of having tied a knot in his shoes.

After shaking out any road debris, the left loafer will be in my right hand for installing on the left foot, so it usually goes on first.

Let’s see. The first shoe I pick up gets put on first. Not a lot to think about there.

I always put my left shoe on first and take my right shoe off first. Just something I’ve always done.

How baseball players blow their own minds.
[I also like how this Sunday strip maintained continuity w/ the weekly ones]

Baseball players have long been the most superstitious athletes around. But what good are superstitions when you never win?

Shoo, let me think this over!

It’s like that other old baseball superstition. If you put on a shirt that says Cincinnati on it, you’ll lose.

I thought superstitions were only repeated after you’ve had success?

Is the difference between a SUPERstition and a BATstition anything like the difference between SUPERman and BATman?

And there are the questions ‘When you get dressed, is it sock/sock, shoe/shoe or is it sock/shoe, sock/shoe? And is it fasten/zip or zip/fasten?’
