That first panel is pretty unusual. It’s rare that Peanuts characters are foreshortened at all, since they’re normally all on the same plane.

This strip proves that Charlie Brown and Lucy really ARE friends. Their interaction here speaks for itself.

No wonder Snoopy gets offended when he’s called “banana nose” at times…since it is a family trait…

Spike looks just like Snoopy, except he has regular eyes, whiskers, a brown hat and is a total nebbish.
