Heaving a deep and troubled sigh, He said, “Why do the men of to-day ask for a sign? In solemn truth I tell you that no sign will be given to the men of to-day.” (Mark 8:12)
I just remembered that she also acted this way in Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown(And Don’t Come Back.). Of course, in that one, CB shouted, “Will you stop criticizing me?”
I guess there was no other desk available, but teachers usually don’t mix genders in desk assignments. But, knowing Patty, she probably insisted that Charlie sit by her.
If I did not think that P Patty would end up in a long term relationship with Marcie I would predict that this could be Chuck’s future as a henpecked husband with Peppermint as his wife. Of course he would probably get berated even worse if he ended up with Lucy…..
I taught algebra to college students who disliked math or felt incompetent with it. One quarter, the men dropped out, leaving an all-female class. I changed the left-brain terminology in for familiar terms: ‘thingy’ for ‘unknown’… that sort of language. Everyone got an A or B at the end. When a person sees that she or he can actually do some math, almost all lose their fear or loathing of math!

Wasn’t I right some time ago? Peppermint Patty is right-handed and Charlie Brown is left-handed? Their writing hands are on the inside.

I’m sorry, but this is ridiculous, even for a cartoon. No school would ever put students side by side at the same desk.
