In the many decades I have read “Peanuts”, I never realized how often Peppermint Patty is the focal point of so many story lines. When I think “Peanuts” I think mostly of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, and Linus. Not a bad thing, just something I just now noticed. Peppermint Patty and Marcie do add a nice quirkiness to the strip.
She’s channeling into “Frankenstein”. Maybe she should read that for her assignment. She’s also channeling into my son, who has no problems wearing sandals in the snow.
I just thought of a great book for P.P. to read. Isn’t “Snowman Is an Island”, from a book of Sermons by John Donne, called “Devotions Upon Emergent Occasions”. If you devote your book report about your theory on the living Snowman you can say your assigned book report has been Donne — and hand it in.
Sure, some days are too nice to stay inside and read—but have you considered reading outside? Find a nice park or courtyard or something, grab a bench and read a good book while the word passes by—weather permitting, it’s one of my favorite ways to while away the hours.

Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul,
With a corncob pipe and a button nose
And two eyes made out of coal.

Displacement activity, the one thing PP is good at.

Peppermint Patty definitely is weird, as she’s wearing flip flops in cold, snowy weather. One would think even she would wear boots outside in winter.

That’s a well thought out excuse, very complexly thought out and she created her own logic for it make sense to her.

I never saw enough snow to build a full-size snowman.

Better be careful Patty, that you don’t unwittingly summon the Snow Demons and create a Snow Goon…

You don’t need to be literate and be a math to be happy, but it helps.

You can’t fool me, Patty – you have been reading – “Frankenstein.” (“Look… no blood, no decay – just a few hunks of coal.”)
