Oh, no you don’t! You’ve abandoned your post and left Peppermint Patty’s house open to attacks for this girl! You’ve made your bed and now you’ll have to lie in it!
Our wedding was quick and chaotic. It was put together in 3 days because my MIL was up visiting & she asked if we could get married while she was up instead of December like we originally planned. It was Labor Day weekend. The thing is, I had a nice dress (not a traditional “wedding” dress but definitely one more “me”), veil, flowers, music, photos & video recording (I arranged the music; my husband videoed via remote control), his parents, my parents, my grandmothers, 2 of my brothers, and a handful of our closest friends. All that said, it was lovely and memorable. My ONLY regrets are that his grandparents & my sisters couldn’t be there.
How does Charlie Brown know how almost everyone feels when the day finally comes? I don’t believe there’s ever been a wedding in Peanuts before, and none of the regular characters are married. Miss Othmar did become Mrs Something-Else offstage at one point, and giving the time when the strip was written it’s probably safe to assume that most of the parents are married (though we know that Peppermint Patty’s being raised by a single father) but Chuck has essentially zero experience that would allow him to say that.
Though it’s possible he’s just spouting platitudes to calm Snoopy down.
Fifty-two years next month. Got married at my parents home and their A/C decided the hottest day in the history of the world was a good day to die. Met my in-laws for the first time two hours before the wedding. Good thing. If I’d met them at the first date there wouldn’t have been a second. It was a good thing they lived 700 miles away. I love my wife and don’t understand how such a wonderful person could have come out of such horrible parents.
If I had known then what I know about my jerk of an ex husband I would have never married him, Had almost 23 years of a happy marriage, or so I thought, then he up and leaves me without any warning ( 3 weeks before our 23rd anniversary) and then within 3 weeks of him leaving I receive the divorce papers, turns out that I married Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde and he has shown his true colors in the 4 years since he left me.

Better yet, think of the wedding night. Right up until she says “Well, I’m glad that’s over” and its all downhill from there.

Never understood why it was a good idea to ignore “wedding jitters”. Probably some bad advice invented by wedding industry marketing.
