There was an old episode of the British TV comedy “Steptoe and Son” where the always-fighting father and son divided the house in two like this. The (sole) television was placed on the dividing line. When Harold the son complained about the chosen channel on the grounds that most of the screen was on his side of the line so he should choose what they watched, his father replied with “Yeah, but I’ve got the KNOBS on my side.”
When my sister and I were teenagers, we went through that stage. Our bedroom was split down the middle. We even set up a screen to divide the space. The closet was on my side and the door was on hers.

Pig, you better be nice to Rat as your fridge is plugged in on his side and that is the only outlet.

As long as the store is on the same side of the wall you’re OK.
