I wanted to think about nothing. But I couldn’t. So instead I thought about everything, until there was nothing left to think about. So then I thought about nothing.

Knowing Max, it’s probably new “Star Wars” stuff that’s been going on.

My son, at grade school age, seemed able to actually think about nothing. Just turn his brain off. Hard for me to believe, even after he asserted it very clearly. Mine doesn’t even turn off while I sleep, as far as I can tell (I usually wake up to a waking dream state).

It was either that or “when you asked me my train of thought broke and I instantly forgot what I was thinking about”

Sometimes empty thoughts are just empty thoughts.

I really don’t like it when people ask me what I’m thinking. Like Max it’s usually nothing important enough to talk about even if I wanted to, which I usually don’t. Plus they’ve just interrupted whatever I was thinking about anyway.

So, is Max entering into his Goth phase? Will we see him dye his hair black and get an emo cut?

I’m going to have to remember this one next time somebody asks me what I’m thinking about…

Does he watch “Seinfeld”? That’s allegedly a show about nothing.

Max usually wears black. The overcoat is nice, but probably because of the weather.

My thoughts are boring and would put her to sleep. I once had a good idea but it died of loneliness!

Men really do have a “nothing” box. When they are in this box, they truly are not thinking about anything, but are just floating around. This is perhaps one reason fishing is more popular with men; it gives them an excuse to think about nothing. My wife couldn’t believe it for years. Apparently, women are constantly thinking about different things, which makes some men think women are scatterbrained. If men had to be thinking about something ALL the time, we’d be having heart attacks at 20; the pressure would kill us.
