Studebaker!

1950 Studebaker is my guess.

He can get her to go like the car, he’s a Champion mover!

Ah! A Studebaker! I was so sad to see that company fold. The Golden Hawk and Avanti were meant to revive the brand, but, alas, it was not to be.

I know I’m to get lots of heat for saying this again but as children we were taught that “they won’t harm you if youdon’t harm them”.

I grew up around Studebakers and Ramblers. For years I tried to buy a 51’ Studebaker Pick-up Truck from a friend of mine, but he never would sell it to me.

Me too. Great car.

My dream “car” is a 1953 Studebaker Pickup Truck. Anybody can arrive in a Ford or Chevy bot a pickup with Studebaker across the tailgate, now that’s CLASS!

Studebaker. South Bend, Indiana. My neighbor worked there. Then he was unemployed. He drove a vehicle similar to Earl’s. We drove some kind of pre-war piece of junk.He lived in a concrete block house. Ours was worse.

Love the white sidewalls in the photo posted by MadCow. Used to help my dad clean his white sidewalls on his Ford when I was a kid and you brought back good memories of that “quality time” with my father.

My uncle was a Studebaker dealer from 1952 until the company stopped building cars in 1966. He sold a 1957 Studebaker Commander to my grandfather which I now have and just finished restoring.I grew up with my parent’s bullet-nose ’51 Commander.

(The car in the strip looks basically like a ’50 but it has a 1951 hood ornament. The grille looks more like the ’51 style, too. Definitely a ’50 style nose, though.)

As a 42 year member of the Studebaker Drivers Club, I love looking for Studebakers wherever they appear!

In 1957 The Golden Hawk was the fastest 0-60 car from the factory and the Avanti was guaranteed to go 200 MPH…My father drove a 1951 commander.

My parents bought a Studebaker in 1950 or 51. Gun metal grey, I remember. Like the AMC cars, they lasted forever. Studebaker started out making covered wagons for settlers in the 1800s.

My dad seemed to favor "63 BelAires. He had 3 of them (not all at the same time, but he did have 2 at one time)

I was born in 1954. I thought the Avanti was cool but I really liked the sound of the name Studebaker (still do).

geneking7320My favorite “stinky pinky” was the four syllable “the one who greases my car” “Studebaker lubricaator”. I got my first driver’s license in a 1950 “Trikephalus”.
