What would Earl do if even Clyde were no longer around? (I hope not move into his daughter Sylvia’s house.)

Wear no iron shirts.

Earl sometimes it’s easier to do the work then try to work your way out of work ;-) But then you would not be Earl !

Whereis he going that needs an ironed shirt; I have not ironed since I retired 10 years ago.

Make him do it himself Opal, don’t just do things for him. Why do men get to retire and women don’t?

This is so 1950s. The rumpled look is in, particularly with stuff like linen and bamboo rayon materials. C’mon, Earl, get with it. . .

How is Clyde at lecturing, chiding, and nagging?

I’m surprised Earl cares that his shirt is wrinkle free.

Better change the locks, or your address, Clyde.

My grandmother used to ask granddad who would sew his buttons for him if there were no women. He would answer that if there were no women around then he wouldn’t need buttons.

How about moving BEFORE she’s no longer there?

My husband must be related to Earl—been together 19 yrs. knows very little about how I run the house.

Clyde would say “NO”.

I still own a couple of shirts with buttons: One each long-sleeve flannel and short-sleeve lighter fabric. That way when my wife makes it clear that I need to dress up to go out for dinner, I have an option that will mostly fit the season. Otherwise, I wear tee shirts.

PS: We do still own an iron, but even my wife, who cares about such things, doesn’t wear anything that needs it.
