It has always been my opinion. That if a drug can’t be bought over the counter. Then it shouldn’t be allowed to advertize on television. Like i said my opinion.

Them pharmaceuticals sure are making plenty of money with their products, aren’t they? This coming from a great-grandson and grandnephew of a few pharmacists.

You noticed that, too? I think it’s getting worse every day.

And there’s usually a disclaimer where they list all the possible side effects.

What ticks me off are the tons of side affects for these drugs. Also any small print drives me up the wall. I take enough medications to sink the Titanic all over again. Unfortunately I need them all for a variety of ailments. It seems that a buffet used to be at a restaurant but nowadays it is the local pharmacy. I am 65, not ancient but no spry rooster either. Aging sucks. OK, rant over!

Drug commercials and Lawyers class-action suits.

Pain and medication is all grandma talks about.

I remember watching the British TV drama, Delicious, where in the first episode a character dies from taking an overdose of a medication I take.

I saw the first TV Christmas ad last week.

Yes we do seem to have a pill for everything ! Myself I like Beer :-)

A few of those that induce the commercial smiley faces had me climbing the walls!

Research shows that fish are affected by all the chemical medications released into our waterways. The fish forget to evade capture presumably because meds affect their survival responses. & fish stocks diminish…..

I miss the days when prescription drugs (as well as lawyers and doctors) were not legally allowed to be advertised. Bring back THOSE good old days!

A major problem for me comes up when I try to research a med, makes no difference who suggests it – doc, friend, online hunt. I thought bills introduced in US Congress or announced by POTUS were incomprehensible until I got into that. Med reports are off planet. Seems even docs don’t have a reliable source for info on new stuff. Scary.

Prayers for all who suffer and for all who have a daily med menu that rivals a big city bus schedule. It’s a grind and maybe all of them are not helpful, but the alternative is not being around for one’s loved ones. Hold tight!

I am very glad that the only drugs I take are caffeine in the occasional cup of coffee, and alcohol in the occasional glass of wine and not so occasional pint of ale!

Why do drug names sound like the evil ruler of an alien planet?

I call those commercials “Bathroom Breaks”…

Big Pharma are the biggest drug pushers in America! Everyday they go through the medical books and seek out a disorder or disease to advertise about. They’re dispictable and preying on people’s fears.

Off the subject of drugs but what gets me is the odds on baseball games showing then a gambling disclaimer.

Ask your doctor if new Fukitol® is right for you!!! If he says no, take it anyway and you won’t care!

And WHY are they all named in Klingonese!??

CDC – Center for Democrat Control. Along with FDA – Forced Democrat Attitude.

There should be no advertising of drugs until they are off-patent and have competing generics.

All that advertising raises the price!

I think the drug names are funny. Some sound like they’re Pokemon. “Zeljanz, go!”

Well, they’ve driven cigarette ads off the air. Must’ve needed to make room.

TV is 85% commercials!! TV sucks for that reason.

I noticed too many drugs advertised on TV and those are expensive drugs, a patient should never take those drugs on TV without talking to a physician.

All the “patients” in drug commercials are always well-heeled making salad at some country resort, or opening a new boutique, or gazing at the sunset, or selecting fresh flowers, or dancing under Italian lights, etc. Kind of makes you miss the couple relaxing in outdoor side-by-side bathtubs (now that’s birth control!).

Lawyers and drug companies should never be able to advertise on TV.

I’m really convinced that Brian Crane has CCV in my house. I’m serious! A lot of the strips are dead on about me.

I was a lot happier when many TV commercials were about cars, booze, beer and cigarettes. Oh, and “Ring around the toilet, what do you do?” I watch very little TV any more. The national news programs used to be 15 minutes. Now they’re 30 minutes with 15 or more minutes of commercials touting many of the above mentioned products. That and they’re politically biased. The comedies aren’t funny and the laugh tracks are annoying. I’d rather read a good book.

Taking the latest fad could be frightening because the next commercial is the class action lawsuit you had no idea you were a part of.

Such ads used to be illegal until Big Pharma used a ton of cash to get the FCC and other agencies to change the rules. With enough pressure they could be changed back.

Just a suggestion before you take any meds, ask your doctor and/or pharmacist about them.

Your doctor might well use medlineplus to look up medicines. You can too. It’s mostly in plain language as well. Tells you what the medicine is, why you’re taking it, how to take it, how much to take, what the cautions and side effects are, etc.

If you use that website and don’t like what you see talk to your doctor or pharmacist!. Do not just stop or start taking any medication or change the way that you are using it without talking to a doctor or a pharmacist. Check first. Knowledge can’t hurt, but don’t ever do anything without checking first. Only an idiot does something that dumb, and you’re not like that are you?

What I don’t get is the fine print at the bottom of the TV screens; “This statement has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.”

SOOoooo, why would you buy it let alone take it?
