That’s more of a dog thing. Cats don’t care and probably don’t even smell the other cat just from petting and leg rubbing.

I can tell you’ve been out seeing other cats!

I’ve gotten on the elevator in our building and someone will be there with their dog. I’ll pet the dog (with the owner’s permission) and later tell my cats I petted a dog. They’re ok with it as long as I don’t bring a dog in here and as long as I wash my hands before petting them because they don’t want any dog germs on them.

Muffin thinks (She can’t talk) “Out catting around, eh?”!

Now, since Earl doesn’t seem to particularly take to their cat, he might spritz a little “cougar scent” on his cuff to see the reaction.

Jeez! It’s like when the wife finds a strand of hair on her husband’s shirt!

My brother-in-law has two dogs. When I come back from his house my little dog’s nose is working overtime as I get doggy frisk.

My dogs do this. They don’t get mad, just very interested.

Oh yes they do. lol

I had a couple of cats but dogs would like me too. I would think they would smell cat on me and be put off.

After returning from the shore for a week, “King” (a skittish kitty) would ignore Mom for several days. "Tis true.

Cats can tell… believe me

“Muffy”? True story, I once dated a girl named Muffy for a short while. She lived up to her name.

I had a friend that volunteered at the local zoo. She worked mostly with the birds. One time she was asked to work with the big cats. She said she came home, one of her cats sniffed her and ran out of the room and hid for 3 days!

Did Earl lose weight, or is it just me?

Speak to the paw

I’d wear earplugs and close The Muffer out of the bedroom for a few nights, breath theft being a bad way to go, and way more comfortable than a football helmet.

My dog didn’t like cats or other dogs. She barked at them whenever she was outside. But whenever I came home from visiting friends with cats or dogs, she never came over to me to sniff their scents. Now that I think of it, maybe her sniffer didn’t work too well, as she couldn’t always find food that fell on the floor.
