Baking and decorating Christmas cookies with Nelson sounds like fun. Earl may have one if he stays out of the way.

Why bother baking cookies? Just go to any site on the Internet and you’ll have all the cookies you’ll ever need.

I’d rather bake cookies and give them to family, friends and neighbors. Store bought doesn’t send a love message to others in my opinion..

When our son was about 5yrs old, he’d be playing outside with friends (in the cold winter days) and about 3 minutes after the cookies came out of the oven, he’d be at the door with his friends, all the cookies disappeared. Needless to say, better half was well liked, even now 35yrs later some of his friends stop us on walks and talk about those days, what memories!

Why can’t Earl help Opal at this time of year instead of expecting her to do all the work. This is why a lot of people hosting parties are stressed out because of the lack of contribution from family members. Only certain people are EXPECTED to do everything, according to family traditions.

I’m on Keto and don’t advocate buying products as they lie but instead make everything from scratch. Going to make some chocolate peanut butter no bakes next!

I’ve imagined the yearly box of pulverized crumbs, aka holiday cookies once started out as cookies but along the way someone picked up the package and shook it to say “sounds like cookies” before handing it over to the next several hundred curious package inspectors performing the same inspection on route to my house.

Long before the Internet, my mother would spend weeks making cookies. It started with Snicker-doodles before Thanksgiving, as they had to mellow. All six sibs helped. I liked making cookie press cookies the most, ribbons especially. We had a cheap press that you had to push the dough out, no screw drive!

My grandmother used to make Chinese noodle cookies that had melted butterscotch, peanuts & chocolate chips in them (ETA:I found out they’re called Haystack Cookies)

And I want kleiner, snickerdoodles and cut out cookies! We have our grandkids coming out for Christmas this year. They’ve never seen snow, caught a snowflake on their tongue, or had hot chocolate while the snow flies around them. Memories to last for a lifetime.
