I haven’t gotten a new DL in 14 years. When I moved, DMV just sent me an address sticker for the license. I need to look into what is necessary to replace that; it’s hard to read after 8 years.
I remember when NY went from 4 to 8 years. The first one I saw was a lady who had just renewed at 88! I remember thinking “This was a waste of money. You’ll expire before this does!”
When I first came to Nebraska, it was every 2 years, and they all expired the same day. Every two years, it took two months to get everyone a new license, and it had no photo. It was printed on special coated paper but was not laminated. Now, every 5 years on your birthday, with digital photo and other high-tech features. For the younger people, they only need to get a photo every ten years. They can renew on line or by mail every other time. I’m too old for that. I have to go in every 5.

no complaint there… unless you sneeze at the same time as the flash like Calvin’s father one time

One of the nicer bits about going white is that my 5 o’clock shadow just blends in with the bright flash. I no longer look like a fugitive on the run.

It’s every four years for me in WY. Same for my concealed carry permit.

In NY it’s 8 years, but you don’t have to get a new photo, if you renew by mail. You can be 40 with a picture of yourself at 16!

When you get to looking like your driver’s license photo, it’s probably time to quit driving.
