A friend was once going to run an ad for renovations, and have “20% discount for seniors.” . . I told him I wouldn’t cuz if I was looking at that the first thing I would ask “if you can do that for seniors, does that mean you are gouging the rest of us?”
when my hubby and my mom would go places together they used to compete “who gets the better discount..the military or senior discount” even though 99 percent of the time it was the same.

what eating establishments have “elderly” discounts anyway? I’ve always heard it as “senior” discounts

A small town that I lived in started Senior discounts at 80 yo. Funeral notices were clustered around 100.

And Pluggers love it when they mention the senior discount and are asked for their ID when ordering an alcoholic beverage.

I am sometimes surprised when I see a ‘senior discount’ on my receipt. I guess it’s the grey beard that gives it away.
