I understand. The Golden Globes are on their way out; the Oscars may go next. Maybe if they stop broadcasting it on TV, people won’t be so bored and start to care again?
PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: I have just submitted an application to my county election officials to change my party affiliation from REPUBLICAN to NONE. It won’t be processed until after the Mar. 18 primary, but I couldn’t wait to withdraw any hint of support for people who cannot see that Donald Trump was and is a danger to America.
Because media companies have all this media equipment and talent sitting around. If they can use it for a big advertising event for their industry, they’ll do it.
Awards of any kind: entertainment, music, journalism, etc. should stay within the social communities that actually care about them. All of it is overhyped by MSM.
“A Minnesota judge has found aggravating factors in Derek Chauvin’s murder of George Floyd — a finding that dramatically increases the likelihood of a longer sentence.”
. . .
“Judge Peter Cahill said in an order made public Wednesday that four aggravating factors are present in the case: Chauvin abused a position of trust and authority as a police officer, treated Floyd with “particular cruelty,” committed the crime as part of a group with at least three other people, and that children were present during the commission of the offense.""

What Carmen seems to be doing here is an exalted form of navel gazing, centered only on H. sap.

Why do you park in a driveway, but drive in a parkway?
Why do hot dogs come unpacks of eight, but hot dog buns in packs of six?
If they get olive oil from olives, where do they get baby oil?
Why does the sun keep on shining? Why does the sea rush to shore?

Stick to trying to solve the ultimate meaning of life. It is a more solvable question than why the Oscars still exist.

Because it’s an industry award ceremony? The public isn’t part of it, even though too many think it’s about their wishes and wants.
Same with the Golden Globes.
