I have yet to meet a any human who is not a hypocrite. It’s just particularly onerous in those who claim to be morally superior.
If some Christians could be more Christ-like, maybe things would be different.

Falwell was not a “religious crusader”, he was a lay administrator in the organization his father founded.

This reminds me of all the anti-gay legislators who turned out to be gay themselves.
That was Bill Clinton’s downfall. He would have gotten off scot-free, if he didn’t lie about “Not having sex with that woman.”
I think hypocrisy is a big component of most religions…
