Now Red has to open the door (to get Rover to stop barking). When he does, Red might just as well continue with the next line “Who’s there?”

He should also go back to Rover and say “Good boy.” while petting him.

Red’s 4-legged security system is working well!

There was a song on the radio back when: Kim Carnes’ “Crazy In the Night”. The song starts with footsteps coming closer, a knocking on a door, and a whispered, “Who is it?” My brother had a Cocker Spaniel, Benji, who was sweet but a little stupid. When I bought the record I listened to it in my father’s office instead of upstairs in my room. Benji heard the beginning, and ran for the door, barking!

Not only does our Missy not bark at the door, she doesn’t even lift her head from her nap when we return home. But, she will bark at invisible things all day when she goes outside to potty. Very odd mutt.

    “Knock knock”

    “Who’s there?

    “Doctor”

    “Doctor who?”

    “Hello, sweetie…”

I like the detail in the artwork. Notice how the tail has a small change in frame 3

People say that puns are the lowest form of humor. That’s a dirty rotten lie! Knock-knock jokes are.

Not sure whether Rover understands there’s no one there and just likes to bark at the door…or is so conditioned by the words “knock knock” that he can’t help himself.
