Bats cover just about every niche; meat eaters, fruit eaters, blood drinking, and nectar. I had a mammology professor who caught bats by string a fishing line across ponds; about 2-3" above the water. The bats would fly down to get a drink and hit the line and tumble into the water, where he would net them up. I asked why their sonar doesn’t pick it up. He theorized that the pond has always been clear and they just assume it is always the same; not paying close attention. He equated it to a human walking through a doorway that they have walked through hundreds of times, but one day someone stings a line at ankle level.

I think Andrew Zoimmern didn’t film him eating that Cambodian concoction in his Travel Channel “Bizarre Foods” Cambodian episode.

Does that mean the phrase “mind your own beeswax” really means “don’t eat my food”?

No wonder the poor bees are endangered!

OK, well, now I’ll never be able to eat Honeycomb cereal again!

I don’t imagine beeswax has any nutritional value. So, the nutrients from eating honeycomb would come from the bee larvae.

Hey, congenital anosmia is nothing to sniff at…

If bees are endangered, that’s really dumb no matter how cultural it is

Eew, gross! I’ve had honeycomb on toast, but not with the larvae in it!
