The Russian economy, about 1/2 the size of California’s, is heavily dependent on exporting oil and natural gas to generate revenues. It would be highly vulnerable to U.S. retaliation. But even the U.S. has declared that cyberattacks by foreign governments can be considered acts of war so any such actions would need careful consideration.
I’m waiting to see what happens. Putin’s been on a streak for too many years. A law of the Universe is that hot hands eventually crap out. Especially when there’s no longer any executive “tacit” collusion helping things to go his way.
Americas downfall.. thinking they can solve cyber with bombs. These “cyber” attacks show just how vulnerable the “free world” is, and how they have lost the technology race.
If.. there is a code/password to remove the “hack”, it’s a sad reflection that the might of American can’t provide it to any company attacked.
Great! Just great. F’n Biden gives one our greatest enemies and bad world actors a list of high priority TARGETS that we consider vital to our national interests and infrastructure. At the same time he’s telling Putin that anything not on the list is fair game. What the hell was he and/or his handlers thinking? More like they weren’t thinking at all. Should have flat out told him that that the next we trace a cyberattack to Russia there will be severe repercussions. President Trump did that in the past and followed it up with direct actions and sanctions. Hah, Russian Foreign Minister Levrov complained that Trump put more sanctions on Russia in his first three years than Obama did in eight. Not to mention everything else President Trump did to Russia/Putin. Yet the moronic left still whine about Putin somehow having leverage or kompromat on President Trump. Funny, after all the investigations no evidence of such was ever found. All the rabid left has are vague innuendoes and insinuations bereft of proof.
My favorite: Here are the targets we do not want you to HACK! Then his statement of OIL/FUEL is very necessary for Russia, Putin does not want us to cut off his oil. After Biden cuts an American Pipeline on his first day. So OIL/FUEL is not important to the US?
I wonder what other countries do when they parody Americans. They must think we are all like the hypocritical RW “people” that we see constantly sidestepping factual data for those that suit their needs and intellectual levels better. You guys write the material yourselves…

So he says he gave Putin a list of 16 sets of infrastructure that were off limits. I guess numbers 17 and onward are okay to target, then.

The Qs believe Putin when he talked about Trump, but when he says Biden is very sharp, and nothing gets past him, they don’t believe it? So Vlad lies?

There’s a lot of wackadoodle ReThuglican BS anti-Biden posts today. Maybe Putin should invite them to air their grievances. And for a class of tea.

Obama tried to pull that trick with Bashar Al-Assad. Didn’t work then, won’t work now.
