Nova Scotia RCMP issued an arrest warrant for Old Man Winter after a recent snow storm left two feet of white stuff lying around:http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/ns/news-nouvelles/releases-communiques/15-02-18-105657-eng.htm

HARLAN, Ky. (AP) — The cold might not bother Disney’s Queen Elsa, but it’s wreaking enough havoc in Kentucky that a police department announced a joke warrant for the popular “Frozen” character’s arrest.

I guess the golf outing will be cancelled because of frost delay.

I prefer winter over summer anytime. The cold air is clean, visible and healthy. I get energized in the winter. The heat wave drains me plus the air is not of good quality.

Well, one can always put more stuff on. But there are limits, both practical and legal, as to how much one can take off.

Groundhog Day: if Phil sees his shadow, then wecwill have 6 more weeks ofvwinter. If he does NOT see his shadow, then we will have six more weeks of winter instead (note the difference). If a wolf eats Phil, then (and ONLY then) we will have an early spring. In other words, it’s all PETA’s fault.

Winter changing to Spring is nice. Here in Texas, Summer is a bit – well, oppressive. And long.

One comment poster describes Texan summers as oppressive. A radio talk show host in Detroit once told us that the humidity in Miami was oppressive coupled with the heat, and found San Antonio’s weather easier to bear during the same summer month. He was visiting the cities because of a professional sports playoff or championship game. I don’t remember now which sport, so the Texan city could have been Houston, Arlington or Dallas.

My sister and brother-in-law spent a few years in Quito, Equador and according to him they had all four seasons every day. Spring in the morning while things warmed up, summer during the day because they were right on the equator, fall in the evening because they were so high in the mountains the air was too thin to hold the heat, and winter at night because they were above the snowline.
