He should get a little Nash Rambler. Then he wouldn’t have to worry about getting into third gear.

Too bad you can’t get it to lay eggs. That would be useful.

At least the wheels go round and round. Everything else seems optional.

One winter I was late in getting the snow tires onto my Mustang. I could spin the tires in high gear, on dry pavement.

I remember riding in an old station wagon when I was a boy. It belonged to a distant relative and close friend of my mother. We were going down this bumpy dirt road, going somewhat fast for conditions, me in the back seat with her son, when there was this clanging sound. Her son remarked, “Momma, I thing something’s wrong with the car.” And his mother’s reply was, “Oh, that’s OK, it’ll fall off.” That memory always cracks me up.

I don’t envy Cosmo his DeSoto, but I have found memories of owing a series of cars which could (& often did) lay rubber in second gear. Some, even in third. Wish it wasn’t so hard to find manual transmission in a car that I liked & could afford.

Memories of my dad’s old car that he drove around the farm. Brakes had failed a long time ago. “Dad! How do you get it to stop?” “Easy..just take your foot off the gas”

Probably a 341 Hemi, if it’s a 59 Desoto. Only 300 horsepower gross horsepower in a car that heavy? I don’t see it laying rubber at all.

Yeah, I had one, pink and white color, push button drive, red lights so plans don’t hit my tall fins and a coat hanger to hold up my passenger seat. Just a find machine.
