A buddy of mine used to come over with his guitar, and we’d have what we called a “Back porch Session.” It of course involved alcohol and singing. I would also sometimes go to local bars/clubs with him where he had gigs. I would always sing along. Of course at the house we were singing together, and at the bars/clubs I’d be singing from my seat. Either way, we sounded pretty good together.
I quit drinking over a year ago. We haven’t gotten together since then, but I’ll always have the memories.
Anyway, I started writing this for one reason, then got nostalgic. What I was leading to is that I sang better (and played pool better) after a few rounds. A few other things as well. It’s almost like you have to re-learn to do certain things without the sauce. It’s all worth it though, especially for health reasons.
i was watching Britain’s Got Talent, and suddenly realized 4000 people were paying to watch a karaoke show. when you watch a really good singer, you have to realize that contestant may be the only decent performance for several days.

Hey, I sound much better after 2 drinks. In fact, my vocal chords have stiffened so much I can’t sing otherwise.

What does a Breathalyzer test tell a cop?
It tells the cop exactly “how dry I am!”

Show me the way to go home
I’m tired and I want to go to bed
I had a little drink about an hour ago
And it’s gone right to my head
Wherever I may roam
On land or sea or foam
You can always hear me singing this song
Show me the way to go home.

Karaoke was originally meant to amuse tanked Tokyo businessmen.

Actually a TV remote is useless in the hand of a drunk.

Come to think, Roz’s expression in the first panel looks a little woozy….
