A chaser
I had been thinking along the lines of a fruitier red, like a pinot of some kind. But Ratkin, above , has already retired the trophy for this one.
Moonshine
How could they forget Night Train, the jewel of the vineyard???!!!
But was it an Eastern Gray squirrel or an American Red squirrel? Or perhaps a flying squirrel? Different species might be paired with different wines.
Boone’s Farm
A good Peanut Grigio should do. or perhaps Boone’s Farm, which pairs very well with roadkill.
Squirrel is not bad. Haven’t had it in years though.
mu-SCAT!
fresh dipped bowl water
Toilet water.
Fresh, or a few days old? It gets complicated. The aromas can be mischievous.
Best laugh of the morning…the strip and all the comments!
Chateau Lafite Rothschild “62”.
A good sommelier wouldn’t be working at a restaurant that serves squirrel.
Although if they’re serving food to squirrels, then they would need to know what wines pair well with acorns.
No, no, no. Squirrel pairs well with bold red wines, such as zinfandel, chianti, or a dry red wine.
Which wine goes best with garlic pizza? Chateau Listerine.
This has caused Blanc stares.
Ask for a side of Benjamin Moore ‘Acorn’ brown sauce #1125.
Wait until the waiter comes and tells them that the kitchen is out of squirrel!
something nutty?
Oh well. Que Syrah, Syrah.
What pairs best with squirrel? Moose, obviously.
Mogen David AKA Mad Dog
What is that hazelnut aperitif?
Beer!
Hair of the Dog.

SQUIRREL!
They’ll hear about it on his Yelp! review.
Squirrel, at least the acorn fed one I had, is a very delicate meat. Its flavor was overwhelmed by the cooking oil.
Like the dog is actually gonna taste it? :)
